James is the founder of Visual Media Church / Stokhub / The Future Church. He lives east of Toronto with his wife Jennifer, his son Oliver, and another boy on the way. James grew up in the church, one of four boys, who’s dad is a pastor. James likes push people to achieve more, never to be happy with good enough, and believes that church communicators should be the same. The mission statement of VMC which comes from James is; Church first, Business Second.
James began his career working for True North Sports and Entertainment in Winnipeg MB, Canada. James worked primarily for the Manitoba Moose of the AHL, at the time farm team for the Vancouver Canucks. James created motion graphics content for games, worked with advertisers on their content, and created all the content with the players.
James’ next role was at Nygard fashion, creating all the video and photography content for all the fashion brands as well the owner of the company. James in this role got the opportunity to travel and film for the company/president getting the opportunity to film at the 2012 London Olympics, NYC, LA, Bahamas, St Kitts & Nevis, Germany, Ukraine, China, Fiji, and much more.
James then went on to found a company in Winnipeg MB, called Build Films. Build films is company that grew to love the north of Canada, conservation, and working on projects and with companies that were non-traditional. One of the biggest early project James and Build Films worked on was a national campaign for the provincial tourism board.
Worked for Ryerson University as Digital Content Producer, primarily working with Law Society of Upper Canada and the LPP creating and filming educational content.
